Abstract Nouns refer to those intangible(अमूर्त) nouns which our 5 senses can not detect.
Feelings, qualities, theories, relationship,ideas & experiences are expressed by abstract noun.
It only exists in mind.

Quality बनती adjective से state बनती common noun से और action हमेशा verb से.
Gerunds (ing verb) तथा simple infinitive(to+verb1st) एक प्रकार से abstract noun ही माने जाते हैं।जैसे to serve, serving
जब ये गुण, अवस्था, क्रिया आदि का बोध न कराकर उस व्यक्ति का बोध कराते हैं जिनके अंदर ये होते हैं तब येcommon noun हो जाते हैं।
जैसे। justice से न्यायab न्यायाधीशco
Witness से साक्ष्य ab. साक्षी co
जब इसका प्रयोग मानवीकरण के रूप में होता है तब यह proper noun हो जाता है।
जैसे He is the favoured(कृपापात्र ) child ऑफ Fourtune.
The names of the Arts & Sciences are also Abstract Nouns.
